OPP: Second Incident Involving a Person Crossing Ice on Moose River

The James Bay OPP says it responded to yet another report of someone crossing Moose River, this time it resulted in somewhat of a rescue.

On Christmas Day police say they arrived on scene to find an intoxicated man laying on the ice in the river.

Police say the Fire Department was able to make its way to the man and helped him return to shore as he was approaching open water.

EMS took the man to a hospital where he was treated for exposure to severe cold.

The OPP says always use caution when traversing ice, whether by foot or by vehicle.
