A Kap native’s trip to the United Nations is the subject of this week’s history feature. It’s contained in May 24th 1961 edition of the Northern Times.
High school student Brad Sherwin was chosen as the winner of the UN Trip by The Sovereign Grand Lodge and the International Association of Rebekah Assembles and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
Principal Donat Brousseau said several students were considered but the decision was left to the special committee. Sherwin was to have left Kap in join and join the group in Hamilton.
The last group had visited a number of places including New York City, Washington, Gettsyburg, and Valley Forge.
