The Economic Development Agent for Reseau Du Nord encourages everyone to participate in the various activities to mark National Francophone Immigration Week. Marie-Josee Tremblay says the events are a great way to network with the newcomers in the region.
“To highlight their success,” she said. “We have a lot of students here at university graduating. We have a high rate of qualified workers coming into the area for different employers to help us with the lack of workforce.”
Activities include a musical night set for this Friday at 7 o’clock at the Centre De Loisirs featuring musician Marc Desilets.
“We will have Yann from Hearst, which is a newcomer, come and teach us some Afro-dance,” she said. “So if any of you is interested in learning what the tradition of African dancing is then come and join us and come and learn.”
There’s also a virtual employer information session, and the launch of the official video of this summer’s my home is your home outdoor retreat.
