Save the dates…March 8th to the 17 for the return Big Winter Festiglace in Kapuskasing. Tourism and Special Events coordinator Kelly Kraby is thrilled with a bunch of new events that have been added including the opening in conjunction with International Women’s Day featuring a wellness discussion and entertainment.
She adds the second day includes the Rotary Club’s Bay Dip Challenge and a new event called a vintage snowmobile show and ride.
“We already have 38 machines that are already registered that’s really cool,” she said. “The ride is going to go from La Forge and parade around the Kap Golf Club and then finish off at La Forge. We are going to have Rosewood Ave that’s going to be there to entertain us in the evening.”
Due to the size of the venue, there are limited tickets available for the concert and Kraby admits they are selling fast with about 30 left.
She says that they’ve added another new event to the first weekend.
“We’re gonna have some sled dog tours from Timmins with a team of 8 to 10 dogs coming,” she said. “People can sign up for some of the tours and that’s going to be happening at the Kap Golf Club.”
