Kap Fire Department gets new repeater

The town of Kap is buying a new repeater for the Fire Department. That device calls in off-duty volunteer firefighters on their pages when there an emergency. The modernization fund is being used to purchase the new equipment at a cost of just over $7,600.

Administrator Guylain Baril says the current device was bought back in the 1980s and is starting to show its age. He adds the new system will also increase the range from 40 to 50 watts and help better contact firefighters.
