Kapuskasing Health Services and town officials meet to create action plan for Coronavirus

Smaller communities are starting to get prepared following first confirmed case of the Coronavirus in Sudbury. Health Services officials along with Town of Kapuskasing staff held their first meet today to come up with an action plan. Town Administrator Guylain Baril says if you think you have symptoms of COVID-19, you should call Tele-Health Ontario or the Porcupine Health Unit and not go to Sensenbrenner Hospital.

“The focus is to try and prevent the disease from spreading so we are asking people who may have the symptoms to stay home, call your primary health care provider and wait on further instructions,” Baril said. ”

Baril says there is no cause for concern in Kapuskasing.

“We are getting ready for what if there needs to be a larger reaction to this threat,” he said. “We have no information to suggest that there is a case in Kapuskasing, we just want to be as proactive as possible.”
