Two adults facing multiple charges after dangerous situation at a RIDE check east of Kapuskasing

Two adults from southwestern Ontario will be back in a Kapuskasing court room in September facing over 25 charges after an incident with Ontario Provincial Police last week.  A vehicle with two adults and four children all under 12 was stopped by Police at a RIDE check at the corner of Highway 11 and 581 east of Kapuskasing. The driver tried to flee Police nearing hitting them. The vehicle was located west of the checkpoint where it had crashed but nobody was inside. Five people including three children were later found at a campsite and then taken to hospital with minor injuries. The driver is facing 19 charges including assault with a weapon, obstruction of an officer, and dangerous operation of a vehicle. The second adult is facing seven total chargers including two counts of a weapon possession and the obstruction of an officer.
