Northern Vibrancy Committee hopes to get people in area moving once pandemic is lifted

A committee to get people moving in a post-pandemic has been set up in the area. The Northern Vibrancy Committee includes members from Smooth Rock Falls to Opasatika as well as Kapuskasing. Centre De Sante Community Wellness Agent Desiree Beaudette says there’s no time like the present to plan.

“And really at the moment with the pandemic it was a real good opportunity for us to start fresh and really establish ourselves correctly and strongly before starting to plan all those activities for people in our community.”

Beaudette says a great example of this is The Colour Run that use to be held every year.

“We are hoping to give that opportunity again in our region but right now with the pandemic it is not possible,” she said.

The unique event douses participants head to toe with coloured powder. A logo contest is underway with a chance to win one thousand dollars in various prizes. For further details on the contest you can visit the Northern Vibrancy Committee’s Facebook page.
