New commercial truck stop coming to Smooth Rock Falls

Smooth Rock Falls is getting a new truck stop. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Tuesday between municipal officials and RJ Construction to launch the new project that will be built across from the Moose Motel on Highway 11.

The 24-hour truck stop will include public washrooms, shower facilities, electric charging station, car washes, an RV dumping station and a Tim Hortons.

Councillor Jean Marie Couture says the truck stop will provide much needed services for residents and those traveling along Highway 11, while supporting economic growth and creating new opportunities.

Construction is expected to be completed by next fall.
