Continued remote learning has no implication for DSBOne schools: Director

The province has slammed the school doors shut for the rest of this academic year, sticking with remote learning.

Lesleigh Dye is director of the English public school board that covers the area from Hearst to Temagami.  She says the announcement has not direct implication for her schools.

“We will continue to do what we have been doing,” she states. “I know that our families have questions about picking up belongings. Once we have more information from the ministry, we will certainly communicate that out to our families.”

Dye says more than 300 students across District School Board Ontario North East have been learning in person all along.  They all have specific special needs.

And what about the annual rite of passage for Grade 12 students?

“Graduations is a topic that I’m looking for more clarity from, from the Minister of Education,” says Dye.  “Our deputy minister of education has committed to a memo coming out to directors of education in the near future.”
