Victoria Day is coming up on May 20th – the unofficial first weekend of summer. And this coming weekend is the final chance to really gear up for it, at the Kapuskasing Sportsman and Trade Show.
Municipal special events coordinator Kelly Krabe says among the exhibitors at the Sports Palace will be local power sports and car dealers.
“We have some home furniture, health and wellness,” she adds, “there’s going to be face painting for the kids; it’s going to be fun to see what’s new, especially getting ready for the summer.”
It’s difficult to pick one special exhibitor, but Krabe has one that would probably qualify.
‘The Kap Kraze Demolition Derby’s also going to be there, and we’re going to be showcasing one of the derby cars there,” she states, “so it’s going to be a little sneak peek at one of the cars that’s going to be featured at the derby this summer.”
The show runs from 4:00pm until 10:00pm Friday, and 10:00am until 5:00pm Saturday. Everyone gets a ballot for a thousand dollars to spend at any of the retailers. Admission is $5.00 a head. Kids under five years old get in free.
