Nominations being accepted for Kapuskasing Citizen Recognition Awards

The town of Kapuskasing is looking for nominees for its next edition of the citizen recognition awards that will be handed out in early November. Certificates, medallions, key to the town and naming rights are among the types of recognition available in categories like arts and culture, volunteerism, courage, leadership, and sports.

Town councillor and committee chairman Anne Marie Leblanc says the deadline for submission is September 30th.

“There is a fillable form on the Facebook page on the town of Kapuskasing page, and they also have printed copies at the town or you can see Thea or Jessica or those ladies they can help you fill it out as well.”

Leblanc says that she considers many of the nominees’ unsung heroes whose contributions sometimes go unnoticed.

“And what makes Kapuskasing the model town of the north are these people that surround us the kindness the caring. It comes from somewhere and it comes from people who are invested in our community.”
