The Food Bank in Kapuskasing is having their grand opening next week.
Back in July the Rotary Club took over the responsibility of the building from the Kinsmen Club who were closing their doors after many years in our community. Rotary Club member, Rick Bartlett says an the majority of the organization voted to accept the Kinsmens offer and take over the Food Bank.
Bartlett says on top of the grand opening next week they have lots of events planned. He says they’re planning an auction in November to help keep the large Food Bank in operation. In December they will be hosting the Mehta Santa Clause Fund where they give gifts to children in need before the holidays and all the other food drives taking place in between.
Bartlett says the community food drives have helped stock the shelves at the Food Bank.
The Food Bank grand opening will be held next Tuesday, October 11th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm and everyone is welcome to come and see how the operation is run.
