Exciting and challenging is how the mayor of Kapuskasing describes his new role as a member of the AMO board of directors northern caucus. Spacek is also the President of the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities.
As a member of the AMO board of directors northern caucus, Spacek will serve as a key municipal leader for the province. The mayor has been on the AMO board now for the past three years so the new role is a reappointment.
Spacek says one of the more important things he wants to focus on is highlighting some of the contributions that Northern Ontario has to the province.
The AMO is a non-profit organization that represents almost all of Ontario’s 444 municipal governments.
The organization focuses on sustainability for municipal governments, advancing federal and provincial infrastructure, enhancing local economies and environmental sustainability.
