If you unwrapped a drone this Christmas there are some safety tips and some regulations residents should be aware of.
The OPP says a drone may not fly closer than nine kilometres from an airport, higher than 90 meters, fly in populated areas or near roads and highways.
Police say you can always call them to double check regulations or refer directly to the Canadian Aviation Regulations which can be found here.
The OPP says if operators break any of the regulations they could be subject to criminal charges or fines of up to $25,000.
