A reunion is being organized to mark the 90th anniversary of Kapuskasing and District High School. Committee spokesperson Sue Kozlovich says the original plan was to have it during the 100th birthday of the town but the pandemic changed that.
She adds the support and the interest to hold an event made it a perfect fit for July 3rd, 4th and 5th of next summer.
“Registration people are coming in Friday morning,” she said. “There will be decade rooms there will be a meet and greet the Friday evening so that will be a good time to meet up with all of your school mates. Saturday different activities and barbecue lunch and Saturday evening right now we are looking for local entertainment.”
Kozlovich says the reunion will wrap up with a farewell brunch on the Sunday.
The group has created a Facebook page where more information is available and people are invited to tag and invite their friends.
More than 1,000 attended the last reunion 15 years ago and organizers are hoping to match or exceed that number.
“They will come from everywhere,” she said. “We’ve had people from Spain. It’s incredible where Kap citizens and people from past times have come from all over the world Italy, United States and across Canada in total.”
