The fire chief at the Kapuskasing Fire Department is the latest recipient of the King Charles the third Coronation Medal.
Norman Beauchamp has been an instructor at College Boreal since 2017 and has 35 years of experience in the fire service.
Beauchamp has previously held fire chief positions in Timmins and Hawkesbury. He noted that In Timmins his analysis uncovered $1,9 million in fraud leading to major reforms.
He says that he was proud to have begun French-language training for the firefighters in Hawkesbury.
Beauchamp added that his fire prevention plans have helped reduce the number of fire-related injuries and deaths in Kapuskasing.
