The Kapuskasing fire chief says three families were displaced from their homes following that blaze at an apartment complex on Mundy Avenue in Kapuskasing. Norman Beauchamp says the fire department got the call shortly after 2 pm on Sunday and it took combined crews from Kap and Moonbeam about 12 hours to extinguish. He adds that no cause has been determined but the fire began in the basement.
