A hotel resident for 33 years is the subject of this week’s Kapuskasing history segment.
Pierre Allard is featured in the April 3rd, edition of the Northern Times for living at the Radio Hotel for over three decades. According to the article, a Radio Hotel address on O’Brien Avenue was all he has ever had.
He later made a slight change by moving to another room. The Quebec native moved to Kapuskasing to be a freight clerk in 1930 and then into the hotel. Allard was getting ready to retire and do plenty of traveling with his Canadian National Railway lifetime pass good for anywhere in North America.
Thanks to the Kapuskasing Public Library for helping us every week.
