Ontario Provincial Police arrested and charged five people following a traffic stop on Riverside Drive in Kapuskasing last Saturday, Jan. 4.
Police say that the drive had consumed an intoxicating substance and a bag of another item believed to be cocaine was also visible. Further investigation revealed additional suspected controlled substances and the arrest of four passengers. Police seized drugs suspected to be Crystal Methamphetamine, Fentanyl, Crack Cocaine, Dilaudid and Morphine as well as cell phones, scales and two switch blades.
All five people, two from Hearst and three from Constance Lake, are each facing a number of charges including three for drug possession.
Two others are facing charges of failure to comply with a probation order, and failure to comply with a release order. One person is charged with obstruction of an officer and two counts of possession of a weapon.
The drive is charged with operation while impaired by drugs, failure to comply with demand, and having control of a vehicle with an open container.
