Unless Anne-Marie Leblanc declines, she’ll be the next town councillor in Kapuskasing.
Guylaine Scherer recently resigned her seat, because she’s moving away from Kap.
At Monday night’s meeting, council adopted a policy that says in such a case, they go to the person who just missed being elected in November, 2022. That’s Leblanc.
If she does decline, Town Hall will keep going down the list of unsuccessful candidates until one accepts.
That person will serve out Scherer’s term, until November 2026.
