Notre Dame Hospital Foundation in Hearst raising money for life saving software during radiothon

The Moose FM Community Cares Radiothon is less than two weeks away….on Friday, Dec. 8 from 6 am to 6 pm.

The Radiothon raises money for healthcare projects at Notre Dame Hospital in Hearst and Sensenbrenner Hospital in Kapuskasing.

Notre Dame Hospital Foundation coordinator Francine Laberge says they want to raise $35,000 for computer software that will help those who come into the hospital needing immediate care.

“Everything is in real time so if you are having a cardiac issue and come into the hospital, the test results that you are getting here with be shared automatically with other hospitals their specialists and doctors,” she said.”

Laberge says the software will eliminate the duplication of tests, allow for faster treatment and provide vital stats if someone is transfered to another hospital.

“We’re hoping for our target and we will be working really hard,” she said. “I know that people in our community will benefit from this life saving software.”

To make a pledge on radiothon day, you can either call one of the foundations offices or drop it off in person. Later this week we will learn more about the project for the Sensenbrenner Hospital Foundation.
