The early history of the town of Hearst is being featured in a historical play on Thursday, August 3rd at the Heritage Sawmill Museum. Economic development officer Lydia Rodrigue says the skit is sure to talk about the roots of the community.
“The little play is about archives so it’s different pieces of history that they use the archives at the Centre Archives that highlights what life is back then and how everything was happening,” she said.
Two books including the second edition on the 100th anniversary will also be launched by author Terry West.
“Who’s from the region and lives down south,” she said. “He writes books about Hearst and the region. His new book A Time To Disappear and it’s based in Hearst way back when like when it first started.”
The book launch and historical play presentation takes place from 3pm to 5pm and free to attend.
