The Notre Dame Hospital in Hearst is closing its labour and delivery unit until further notice as of today.
Officials say they haven’t been able to recruit an obstetrician for the hospital. A prenatal clinic has been set up at the Nord-Aski Family Health Team to support new and expecting mothers during their pregnancy and with birth planning.
