Since a presentation at Kap Town Council and Moose FM and My Kap Hearst Now Dot Com coverage, the chairperson of the area veterinary recruitment committee has seen support for the group taken off to another level. Selina Rogers says since the committee has grown from four to 13 members and has over 500 Facebook followers. She adds there is even representation from the current vets Dr. Susan and Ramasurian Ramkumar.
“And they are participating in the committee and they go back and ask them questions,” she said. “Because of his busy schedule, we let them schedule a time that works best for him to be able to gather what information we should be pursuing and different things like that.”
Rogers says it’s all about getting closer to find a replacement for the vets who will be retiring in the next few years.
“We are going to start with one but we are pursuing two because really the clinic there’s two there,” she said. “And through the pandemic we lost two ladies as well. So really the goal is two but we will be really happy to start with one.”
