Festival de la St. Jean hits Kapuskasing this weekend

The Festival de la St. Jean is set to rock the Centre de Loisirs grounds in Kapuskasing this weekend. Communications coordinator Marie-Soleil Veilleux says about 50 per cent of the tickets have already been snapped up, and some will be available at the door for both nights. She adds one of the highlights is the array of home grown talent including comedian Patrick Guillotte from Kap on Friday night.

“Saturday we have the Cite rockers from Cite des Jeunes who is going to be opening and we have also the Lapointe Family that’s going to be from Timmins,” she said “Mitch Jean from Cochrane. It’s going to be awesome. We love supporting everybody around us.”

A La Forge brunch and a church service have also been added to the weekend of activities.

Veilleux says all of the activities are under the big tent which means no parking at the Cenre.

“We actually made a few phone calls to businesses around and they gave us some approval for parking,” she said. “We have a map on our website and on our Facebook on where to park that we have permission to park.”
