A unique decorating contest is coming to Tim Horton’s in Kap this Sunday morning at 10. It’s Get Decorated in support of the Warm Belly Soup Kitchen and the Food Bank.
Well-known local residents from Member of Provincial Parliament Guy Bourgouin, business people and our own Denis J. Puska will sit and get decorated like a cookie for 10 minutes. Soup kitchen coordinator Amanda Rickard says the public will have different toppings to choose from to decorate.
“We’ll have sprinkles that will be $5. We’ll have ice and whipped cream for $10 and we’ll have chocolate, strawberry or butterscotch for $20.”
Rickard says the fundraiser will help get everyone excited for the smile cookie campaign.
“I was coming up brainstorming some ideas with our volunteers and one of our volunteers came up with this incredible idea to decorate people like cookies so we took the idea and we ran with it.”
Get Decorated is part of a pre-launch to the Smile Cookie Campaign that’s set for May 1st to May 7th. This year the campaign is in May and cookies have gone up to $1.50 with proceeds will benefit the Soup Kitchen and the Food Bank.
