Town of Kap snow removal ‘on budget’ for this winter

You might think that with the high snow banks we’ve seen close to record amounts of snow in Kapuskasing this winter. Public Works manager Eric Cote says that’s not necessarily been the case, and in fact the town’s snow removal has managed to remain on budget. He adds that a major melt of the snow in November made a big difference.

“We lost quite a bit of snow and that made it possible to stay on budget if you will and it has kept the snowfall – snow level lower,” he said.

Cote says the town will begin its street widening program over the next few weeks.

“Be aware of the equipment that is working on the roads, please stay away,” he said.  “And people are good so far and hopefully keeps going and let the guys do their jobs.”
