A Kapuskasing business owner has brought a Bass Pro Shop style of business to the region. Miguel Tailleur has launched an expanded RAXFIN on the corner of Mill Street and Government Road in Kapuskasing.

He says he wanted to take a positive approach with the economy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It’s tough times but we got to go and get through it and be ready when everything gets back to normal,” he said. “And ya we always have to stay up high and positive.”

He says he was always travelling down south to visit the store and dreamt about bring that kind of business to town.

“It’s also to help bring more people to the area in tourism, and we are trying to help and grow that side of things,” he said.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held this morning at the new location. Tailleur also opened the store with his dad Dan, who he calls a mentor.

He adds being able to start a business with his father is something very special.
