Gym enthusiasts and the Special Olympics are getting together this Saturday for a unique event. It’s the CF 24 challenge and it will be coming to Rock Box Cross Fit in Kapuskasing. Cross Fit members are collecting pledges and then participating in workouts from 9 am to 9 pm. Event spokesman Lori Ann Duguay says this event has become very successful.
“The last two years we have raised between $4,200 and $4,500 and this yeear already we are over $5,000 and there are more pledges coming in,” she said.
Duguay said there are already 50 participants registered and it’s not to late to take part.
“Some of our members are doing 12 hours while others will do a four hour block,” she said. “What it means is that members will do about a 10 minute workout per hour for all participants.
Duguay adds that all proceeds benefit the Special Olympics with 70 per cent of the money staying locally. For further information on the event or to register visit www.CF24.ca
