Very cold wind chills are expected over the next few days for Kapuskasing, Hearst and Smooth Rock Falls.
Environment Canada says extreme wind chills of minus 40 to minus 45 have blown through the area this morning.
The weather agency says this will remain over the region through the weekend and into early next week, bringing a prolonged period of extremely cold wind chills.
Environment Canada says extreme cold puts everyone at risk so dress warmly as well as in layers that you can remove if you get too warm.
