Replica Handgun Found in Traffic Stop in Matheson

A traffic stop just outside of Matheson has resulted in several charges for a 30-year-old man from Quebec.

The South Porcupine OPP noticed a vehicle driving erratically on Highway 11 in Taylor Township. The driver of the vehicle did not have a license and had open liquor. Police also found meth along with a replica handgun.

The man is now facing nine charges ranging from possession of a controlled substance to failing to surrender his license, driving with open and accessible liquor in the vehicle and carrying a concealed firearm.

The man was in court in Timmins yesterday.
