Charges Laid in Joint Traffic Initiative in Cochrane

The James Bay Detachments of the OPP conducted a joint traffic safety initiative which resulted in several people being fined and one man getting arrested.

The OPP, MTO, MNRF and MOF were a part of this traffic initiative that took place along Highway 11 in Cochrane near the end of October. A total of six people were fined for not wearing seatbelts, using handheld devices along with violations towards the Tobacco Tax Act.

Police also arrested and charged a 37-year-old man from Sudbury with possession of marijuana under 30 grams. The man is scheduled to appear in court in Cochrane at the start of December.
