The Northeast Community Network just wrapped up its AGM in Cochrane to discuss economic development in the region.
Kapuskasing’s Economic Development Officer Andre Robichaud says working collaboratively as a region is key to moving forward.
The area under the NeCN spans from Constance Lake to Cochrane and Iroquois Falls, including Timmins.
Robichaud says having Indigenous communities at the table is a competitive edge and partnerships, like the Mining Readiness Strategy between Hearst and Constance Lake, provide an advantage to northern communities.
Everything from agriculture to mining to small business development was on the docket for the meeting.
