OPP: Watch for Wildlife on Northern Roads

The OPP is reminding drivers to keep their eyes peeled for wildlife on our northern roads and highways this month.

Watching for the yellow wildlife signs, keeping your eyes peeled on shoulders at night time, not overdriving your headlights and staying off your phone will all help you stay alert and safe.

At one-point last year, northern OPP detachments reported 50 per cent of all collisions involved a moose along the Highway 11 north eastern corridor.

The OPP says traditionally June has the highest incident of crashes involving wildlife and it’s doing what it can to reduce that risk.
