The OPP in Iroquois Falls have diffused a potentially dangerous situation involving a gun-theft.
Police say they responded to a call last week on Victoria Road after receiving a report of someone breaking into a home.
The OPP later found the .25 caliber handgun in a sewer manhole a few blocks away from the scene.
Police says a 17-year old boy from Iroquois Falls has been charged with public mischief, breaking and entering and possession of a firearm.
Inversely, police have also charged the 70-year-old Iroquois Falls man whom the gun was stolen from with carless storage and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
The OPP is taking the time to stress the importance of safely storing guns in your home.
