NOSM has just wrapped up its meeting in Hearst where it met with its Indigenous Reference and Francophone Reference groups.
Communication is an important part of delivering healthcare as both the Notre-Dame Hospital and Nord-Aski Family Health Team work extensively with aboriginal and Francophone patients.
NOSM says Hearst was chosen as the meeting location due to its extensive service to both the town’s Francophone community and the area’s aboriginal population.
The meeting ran from the 12th to the 13th.
NOSM sends students every year to work in Francophone and Indigenous communities in the north.
