St. Patrick’s School in Kapuskasing got students out of the classroom and into the discussion of mental health and wellness.
It’s all part of Mental Health Awareness Week; students from every grade took part in activities throughout the day yesterday.
Principal of St. Pat’s, Gretchen Morgan says the school is strengthening its commitment to improving the quality of life for its students.
The Porcupine Health Unit and the Healthy Kids Community Initiative were part of the event.
Morgan says one in five families will experience mental issues or illness in Ontario and preparing students now will give them the tools to deal with it later in life.
