The MNR and the OPP are teaming up to remind residents as the weather gets warmer it means wildlife will be more active.
The MNR says the potential for human-bear contact is high when food sources are scarce at the beginning of spring.
The two organizations say by storing garbage securely, putting award bird feeders and properly cleaning barbeque grills you can reduce that risk greatly.
If you do encounter a bear within your community you can either report it to the Bear Wise website which can be found here, your local OPP detachment or the MNR.
