Kapuskasing is waiting to hear back on the quality of its water systems.
For the last three years the town’s water treatment assessment has been 100 per cent, evaluations the town’s CAO says he’s extremely proud of.
In 2006 the town began making significant changes to its systems which has now led it to having some of the best tap water in the Northeast.
Chief Administrative Officer Yves Labelle says before the new systems were in place residents had to have water softners with hardness around 230-240, with the current system in place it’s down to 80-90.
With hardly any incidents reported in the system the past year the town is optimistic about the results.
