The OPP is teaming up with the OFSC and is educating sledders during Snowmobile Safety Week.
The OPP and the OFSC says there were 15 fatalities reported in relation to snowmobiling in Ontario last year.
The partnership has played a role in reducing injuries and death for snowmobilers, with fatalities dropping every year.
Police says the top three causes of injury or death have consistently been from drinking or doing drugs, high speed in less than favourable conditions and riding at night.
The OPP says the driving public should also be cautious of sledders near highway shoulders and at marked crossings.
