College Boreal and Iroquois Falls are working together to help people get jobs.
The school is allowing community members to get professional skills in order to re-enter the work force with the Labour Action Adjustment Centre and the D-SAB Employment Services.
Students in the Heavy Equipment Training Program worked at the Iroquois Falls landfill for the hands-on part of the course.
This let students get the training they needed, the school gets a work site, and Iroquois Falls benefits from the work.
Boreal’s Timmins campus is going to be looking into offering the same course in February.
