Some local businesses in the Circle and commuters around town may have noticed the snow plowing on our roads, or lack thereof.
Manager of Public Works, Eric Cote says salting roads can lead to black ice as northern temperatures drop and salt becomes less effective.
Local businesses like Spacek’s, Back to the Grind and Renaissance Hair Design salt their own side walks, despite it being the town’s responsibility.
Cote says the town is sanding on top of having a snow removal machine and back-hoe to assist in removal on side walks.
The town says it also wants residents to be aware when removing snow not to pile it into the streets or back onto side walks.
