Sensenbrenner Hospital Foundation sees financial support roll in past few weeks

Donations have been coming in on a rapid basis over the past several weeks for Sensenbrenner Hospital Foundation projects.

Board president Denis Berube says the Labelle Foundation gave $100,000 for the bone density testing equipment, while the chemotherapy suite project benefited from $25,000 from Kevin Robichaud and the selling of over 11,000 smile cookies at Tim Horton’s a couple of weeks back.

“The Labelle foundation that money will go to the bone density machine,” he said. “Right now people have to go to Timmins which apparently, it’s a five-minute procedure and you have to come back. So now you get to do that here.”

Berube says they’ve been humbled by the support.

“The momentum has been spectacular. I mean it’s been one thing after another,” he said. “I think people see how things are going and see benefits of what the foundation brings to the community, brings to the hospital. People don’t have to travel as far for treatment of various kinds.”

The foundation also participated in the Kap Gives Back year end hockey tournament with North Centennial Manor and the Kapuskasing Food Bank and a final total is expected in the coming weeks.
