Apparent fraud and theft discovered at Cochrane area operation

Theft and fraud at what OPP only refer to as “a large industrial operation located northeast of Cochrane” is estimated to be worth $500,000.

The crimes are alleged to have been committed by a former employee over a period of two-and-and-a-half to three years. An investigation began at the end of January.

Police say large quantities of building materials, tools and electrical and plumbing equipment  were obtained through purchasing channels. They were then shipped to North Bay for personal use.

A 38-year-old North Bay man is up on four counts each of fraud over $5,000 and theft over $5,000.
