Cochrane school evacuated Thursday due to structural concerns

Students are Ecole Catholique Nouveau Regard in Cochrane were temporarily evacuated yesterday due to a structural concern.

The school board says it was out of an abundance of caution – as the concern was identified in the library area as well as a portion of an adjacent hallway. All students and staff were safely dismissed.

The board says engineers are on site today conducting a full assessment of the situation – and next steps will be determined once the evaluation is done. Officials add communication with families will be done as more information becomes available.
