Kap Golf Club ready to host Bob Young Invitational this weekend

Staff at the Kapuskasing Golf Club have been kept busy over the past few days cleaning up the course after heavy rain over the weekend. Club manager

Andre Robichaud says water levels of the creeks have started to go down to their original levels but they were left with quite a mess.

“The rain as we saw on number six the water was pretty high,” he said. “It came down pretty quick obviously a few of those areas are pretty wet at the moment. But it’s always infrastructure putting the bridges back in place, a couple of washouts by the culverts, one of our water lines is now broken.”

Robichaud says it’s been a busy week.

“Add that to all of the other stuff they have to do to prep the course you know it’s a lot of work in very little time and it’s all unplanned work,” he said.

The biggest golf tournament of the year the Bob Young Invitational tees off with practice rounds on Friday before the event begins on Saturday. Robichaud says they will be ready to welcome a full field of golfers to play and fans who want to come out and watch.

A full field of golfers are ready to chase the various flight titles. A practice round takes place tomorrow (Friday) following by the opening round on Saturday and the final round on Sunday.
