A well-known volunteer in Kapuskasing has been chosen as the Ontario Senior of the Year. Guy Paradis was presented with the award during town council meeting on Monday night.
Paradis has been helping out a number of organizations and events from La Forge-Joe Godin, Kapuskasing Sno-Rovers Club to Kap Kraze and The Colour Run.
In his presentation mayor Dave Plourde says that Paradis’ efforts have always left a lasting mark in the community.
“His integrity and passion and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of others has inspired generations, and he reminds us that age is no longer a barrier to making a difference,” he said.
Similar awards are being handed out across the province to celebrate seniors’ month in June.
