The Sensenbrenner Hospital Foundation is launching its latest fundraising project today. It’s to renovate and relocate the Chemotherapy Department. Project manager Mireille Dubosq says it’s a big one that will include a new separate entrance for the patients. She adds they’ll need to raise $660,000.
“The spaces are right next to one another however, the new space will be closed off and will become it’s only little department,” she said.”Patients that do come in for treatment will not have to go through different departments they can go straight through the chemotherapy department.”
It will also include the purchase of an additional chair for patients as well as equipment for bone density, as well as an IV pump and pick line. Dubosq says the number of patients the department sees continues to rise.
“Remember that the last few years the hospital has been seeing about 500 visits for treatment and in the last year alone it’s jumped to an extra 200 visits a year so for 700 some visits a year,” she added.
The foundation announced this morning that $60,000 had already been raised from the 50-50 draw and various donations including the Moonbeam Knights of Columbus who contributed $10,000. .
