Lumberjacks looking for Head Coach

The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Hearst Lumberjacks are looking for a new Head Coach. The team announced that Marc Alain Begin has stepped down to pursue the new opportunity as Director of Parks and Recreation for the town of Hearst.

Begin spent five seasons behind the bench where he won 160 of 228 regular season games. Under his leadership the Jacks advanced to two NOJHL championship game sevens. Vice President and general manager Jonathan Blier says Begin brought a standard of professionalism and passion that has helped shaped who the organization is today.

Meantime, the league announced that the Elliot Lake Vikings have had their leave of absence extended and won’t be active in 2025-26. This is due to ongoing problems with construction and renovations of the Community Arena known now as Rogers Arena.
